Galloping to Success at Antietam!

Antietam Elementary School is nestled in the beautiful tree-lined area of Lake Ridge, Virginia. It first opened in 1990. We had a full renovation of the school which was completed in August 2017. Through this renovation every classroom was updated with energy saving devices, including light switches, LED lighting, and state of the art Epson Brightlink Interactive Projectors.

Classrooms were also outfitted with new cabinetry and germ fighting carpets. We received a brand-new activity room, music room, and a new, more secure front entrance/office area. Our library, gym, cafeteria, kitchen, and main office area was also renovated.

During the 2018-19 school year our school received a 13-classroom addition. As a school community, we are dedicated to providing a safe, culturally diverse environment that promotes academic excellence and life-long learning. Our teachers use a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to accommodate many different learning styles and give our students opportunities to develop their ability to work cooperatively.

As the Mighty Mustangs, our students are involved in a variety of activities designed to enhance their instructional program. In addition to our new Epson Brightlink Projectors, we have technology that is upgraded to include iPads, Chromebooks, laptops, and interactive responders. We added several new laptops to our inventory this year. We are also an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) candidate school awaiting our authorization as a World IB School.
