Student Schedule of Activities

April 17, 2020:

Dear Fifth Grade Families:

Welcome back! We hope you all had a great spring break! We have missed talking to you and your kids. Starting April 20th, each day of the week will be assigned to a subject. We will release daily lessons at a certain time each day. At that time, we may post a video lesson, assignment or project for students to work on in a self-paced manner. All videos, lesson materials, and activities will be included on the Google Slides that are posted to Google Classroom each day. We will then be available to help during the hour learning time (12-1pm) as well as our office hours on Friday (12-1 pm) You can use the office hour time to ask questions, ask for clarification, or ask for review on the objective assigned. For the remainder of the year, we will be creating Google Slides that can be accessed through your student’s Google Classroom. Any activities that are completed may be turned in through Seesaw or Google Classroom. Just take a picture and upload your activity to your Seesaw account or submit it through Google Classroom. As per county regulations, all activities are optional and will not be graded. However, We will provide your child with feedback on assignments that they choose to complete. We will continue to use previously established methods of communication with students to post instructional activities and communicate with students during office hours. This will be Seesaw, email, class websites, Google Classroom, and/or other approved tools. As a reminder, the third grading period will be ending on April 24th. Please check ParentVUE to check in with how your child is doing in each of their subject areas. Let us know if you have any questions. As we venture into this new world of virtual learning, please remember to be patient with your child and with us, as we are all trying to learn to navigate something new. We will
update you with information as we get it. Thinking of you all daily. Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

The Fifth Grade Team

Hello! I am Ashley Brucker. I am looking forward to my fourth year teaching fifth grade in Prince William Country. I am a new teacher to Antietam Elementary, coming form another school in the area.

I am originally from outside of Philadelphia! I moved to Virginia four years ago. I am the proud cat mom of two cats both of which were rescued from shelters. Latte is a brown tabby cat that loves to sleep all day while Mocha is darker brown and loves to play.

I am very excited to begin this journey with you and your family!
